NITLE seeks a dynamic, innovative team player: an instructional technologist to plan, develop, and deliver faculty and staff development workshops, both online and f2f on the campuses of participating colleges and universities. NITLE instructional technologists teach a range of technologies and their uses in the context of undergraduate-focused higher education.

Outstanding candidates may come from a variety of backgrounds, including

• Instructional technology or instructional design
• College or university information technology
• Library or information services
• Faculty or professional development programming
• Teaching or training

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Excellent teaching, writing, public speaking, and interpersonal skills
• Strong understanding of a range of technologies and the ability to explain them clearly to users at various levels of expertise
• Expert capabilities in a variety of applications. (See list of currently offered NITLE workshops for examples of specific technologies of interest.)
• Familiarity with the distinctive features and mission of undergraduate educational institutions, including the ability to relate to faculty and academic support staff in a variety of disciplines and fields, and understanding of how technology can enhance and support this mission.
• Dedication, energy, imagination, and a spirit of innovation
• Ability to learn and apply new knowledge rapidly and independently
• Problem-solving orientation and ability
• Outgoing personality and natural inclination to networking
• Enjoyment of travel and work in multiple environments
• Sense of humor

Knowledge of the following technologies is highly desirable:

• multimedia tools
• social software
• podcasting
• digital images
• mapping
• data visualization
• videography and video editing
• web development
