Rebecca develops and delivers faculty and staff development workshops on an array of technologies used for pedagogical purposes at participating colleges. As part of the NITLE Program Team, she develops and implements distributed technology training solutions for faculty and staff professional development in the areas of podcasting, videography and video editing, web development, social software and computer-mediated communication, teaching with images, and other digital technologies that may be used in taching and learning. She also provides media support for NITLE events, develops resources for participants following events, and researches educational possibilities for different technologies.
Rebecca received an A.B. from Brown University in Comparative Literature with a focus in translation. While in college, she spent a lot of time carrying her cello up snowy hills to rehearsals, and once carried it – not without incident – onto a Parisian metro train. Before coming to NITLE, she worked at a PBS station, a newspaper, and a used bookstore.
Rebecca lives in Ann Arbor, where she is systematically trying to visit every coffee shop in town.
