Nancy directs and coordinates all professional development programs offered by NITLE, developing a wide range of opportunities for participants that expand their professional experiences in the innovative and effective use of technologies in teaching and learning. She insures the pedagogical appropriateness of these opportunities as well as their timeliness, intellectual integrity, smooth operation, and general quality. Working in cooperation with participating colleges and fellow staff members, she shapes NITLE's overall professional development program agenda and oversees the development of Workshops To Go as well as seminars, symposia, conferences, and planning meetings associated with targeted collaborations. In this work, she identifies appropriate topics, supports planning and program development processes, identifies and recruits presenters and facilitators, and coordinates program evaluations.

NITLE's Director of Professional Development Programs, Nancy completed her undergraduate work at Shippensburg University and received her M.A. in English from Middlebury College. Over her career, she has taught high school English; served as assistant director of humanities computing at Dartmouth College; and worked as an assistant director of the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunication System (IHETS). She is formerly the Director of the Midwest Instructional Technology Center.

Nancy lives in Saline, Michigan, with her husband, Richard Ellis, a developer at the University of Michigan, and Evita, their Clumber spaniel.
