Institutions enrolled as participants in the NITLE Network receive Basic MIV Service as part of their Network participation. Basic MIV Service includes one MIV room configured with 10 seats and reserved for the exclusive use of the participating institution or organization. To enroll in the Basic MIV Service, the participating college's campus liaison should fill out and submit the online enrollment form for basic services.
Participating colleges also have access to a web-based collaboration site that supports peer-to-peer exchange between MIV users and facilitates the development of an MIV User Community. NITLE's "Do-It-Yourself" MIV training module, regularly updated FAQs, technical specifications, and other relevant information to help campuses make the best use of the service are available on this site; please contact Karen Davis for access. More formal training options--delivered online via MIV and priced at one program unit per participant per session--are listed on our program calendar; look for "Collaborate with MIV" (for newbies), "Foster MIV" (for those who support MIV on campus), and "Lead and Teach with MIV" (for more advanced users).
Beyond the basic level, institutions and organizations participating in the NITLE Network may also opt into our enhanced MIV services. At the enhanced level, a participating institution may purchase additional seats and/or rooms, with seats available in 5-, 10-, and 15-seat increments. One-time set-up fees apply for additional rooms and for reconfiguration of existing rooms. To enroll in the Enhanced MIV Service, the participating college's campus liaison should fill out and submit the online enrollment form for extended services.

NITLE participating institutions may also purchase access to the MIV Auditorium. Campuses with auditorium access can reserve the MIV Auditorium for use by up to 50 users at a time. Because participants using the MIV Auditorium will need time both to enter and exit the virtual room, campuses are required to reserve time sufficient to account for the arrival and departure of participants. For example, campuses will need a 1-hour reservation for a 50-minute class. This buffer time will ensure that the MIV Auditorium is free and available when your activities are scheduled. To reserve time in the Auditorium, please contact Karen Lee Davis.
Access to the MIV Auditorium is available in full-hour increments according to this fee schedule:
|
1 hour per week per semester |
$500 |
In 2008, the MIV Auditorium is available for two semesters: January 1 - May 30, and August 1 - December 31.
