Upcoming Events - Moodle User Community Meeting

Brief Introduction

For faculty, instructional technologists, system administrators, librarians, and other campus personnel from participating colleges that are interested in the Moodle technology and how it can further the academic mission on campus. (6 program units. Liaisons' deadline: Monday, March 3, 2008)

Prerequisites

Participation in the NITLE Moodle Exchange (NME) and familiarity with Moodle as a user is recommended. To enroll in the NME, please contact Karen Lee Davis.) Participants will also benefit from browsing the Moodle website for fundamentals and recent information.

Description

The Moodle technology has spread quickly as a learning management solution in higher education particularly among smaller, undergraduate-centered colleges with a commitment to innovative pedagogical practice. At this meeting, active and newer users of Moodle will gather to further develop a strong community of practice and peer-support network around Moodle. This meeting will focus on both front-end and back-end best practices. The goal of this event is to build strong collaborative support and foster a sense of community among the Moodle users at participating institutions.

NITLE invites faculty, instructional technologists, system administrators, librarians, and other campus personnel to present and discuss techniques both for effective teaching and engaged learning using Moodle, and for effective management and support of Moodle. Topics for the event will include:

This event is open to campuses at all points in the Moodle deployment process, from campuses researching and piloting Moodle to those with several years of experience.

How to Participate

Interested faculty and staff from participating colleges: To participate in this meeting, please contact your campus liaison. Your campus liaison will select your campus's nominees and send their names to NITLE. Nominees will receive further information from NITLE about the registration process.

Participation limited to up to two attendees per campus; representation of diverse roles from each campus is recommended.

Deadline

Liaisons from participating colleges should complete the nomination process no later than Monday, March 3, 2008. Participation is determined on a first-come, first-served basis.
